Matt was always interested in movies and TV, but it was the process of making them that drew him to editing. His professional career began when he took a position as a runner at Whitehouse Post in Chicago. After a little bit of time, he was promoted to assistant editor and got the chance to work alongside experienced editors. Eventually he was editing projects of his own for brands like Guinness, Allstate, and Nintendo. After 10 years at Whitehouse, he went on to be the lead editor at the newly created McDonald’s ad agency called We Are Unlimited. A change from the post house environment, We Are Unlimited allowed Matt to work more closely with creative teams crafting commercials and other video content for McDonald’s. From there, Matt became the lead editor at Banner, a full-service production studio with a focus on sports. At Banner, Matt enjoyed the opportunity to work on commercials and longer form content for iconic sports organizations like the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs.
Currently, Matt has been working on a variety of projects as a freelance editor. No matter the type of video, his philosophy remains the same. To craft an engaging story.
